New and Bright

Happy Tuesday everyone. Let me start off with thanking my new follows, I really appreciate your support. It has been a while since I updated this blog, and for a good reason. My daughter was home with a cold the whole last week and now is back to school but my oldest decided to catch the same cold. I have been very busy sewing new purses and very excited and happy how they came out. Very bright colors, just great for the winter and spring.

Last Friday was an exciting morning for me; I got in the mail a yard of fabric from my friend that she has hand printed specially for this wonderful purple cashmere sweater that we picked up a week before. The purse came out amazing, for more images please visit my store on Etsy www.rulatwal.etsy.com

I have been baking, I make this wonderful 7 grain whole wheat bread and today this amazing banana bread. I found the recipe online and would love to share it with you:

3 or 4 ripe bananas
1/3 cup butter
1 cup sugar (I mixed some brown sugar with it)
1 egg beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
a pinch of salt
1 1/5 cups flour
Glaze:
1/3 cup powder sugar
1 tbsp water

Mash the bananas and add all ingredients, you don't even need a mixer, add flower last and don't over beat it. Butter a bread pan (I used parchment paper) and bake for one hour in 350 degree oven. Pour the glaze on top of the bread while still hot.

Here is a picture of the bread I made a few days ago:

Saturday Suprise

Thought it was going to be a slow day until I got an email from my store that I have a sale, so off to the post office.

This morning I tried my hand at making french bread. It turned out great. I used the bread machine for the kneading part then rolled the loaves by hand. They were sooo good. Yummy, will make more for sure.

Here is my latest purse I posted on my shop on Etsy. Super fun color, soft and cozy and so girlie!

One more exciting piece of news: One of my wine bags got featured in a blog, check it out by visiting http://cokiepopaper.blogspot.com/

I Love Monday!

Mondays are nice for me because the kids go to school, hubby goes to work and I go to play with my fabrics and felts.

I listed two new items on my shop on etsy this morning. I am getting repeated customers locally.

I went to the fabric store today and picked up a couple of fun fabrics for lining two new purses I will be working on this week. My daughter, 12 years old, has been asking me to make some felted wool stuffed animals, so yesterday she designed a mommy and baby fox which we will both work on soon. If they come out nice they will go up for sale in the shop as well (of course she gets part of the profits).

Thanks for checking in, I will be back soon to share the process of my purse making.

Welcome

Thank you for visiting my blog, I will be updating as much as possible. I will be posting pictures of projects that I am working on and finished products before they are posted on my online shop www.rulatwal.etsy.com.

I have been up cycling wool sweaters, where I wet felt them and make all sorts of projects such as bags, purses, wine bottle cozies, little bowls and pin cushions from old and vintage found treasures.

If you have a sweater that no longer fits, I would be happy to create anything you like from it.

I know this will be lots of fun for me and hope you enjoy and follow my blog as well.
